Is it difficult to open and close a lift and slide door? Even though the panes can be up to 3 meters wide and 2.5 meters tall? Even though they could contain a heavy triple glazed unit?
The quick and simple answer to this is no.
The lift and Slide doors we offer are very different from the heavy and cumbersome sliding patio doors of yester year. Clever engineering makes a huge 300kg pane glide easily with just 2 fingers.
From the closed position (at midnight/pointing upwards), turning the handle 180o into the sliding position (6 o’clock/ pointing downwards), the door is raised by several millimetres. The stainless steel rollers are effortlessly able to carry up to 300kg a pane. This allows for panels to go up to 2700mm in height and 2500mm wide giving you uninterrupted views
In order to close the sash, slide it into the closed position and lower it again by turning the handle 180o from the downward to the upward position. If the handle has a key cylinder, unlock it before operating the handle
It is possible to put the sliding system into a locked ventilation position. Raise the handle +/- 15mm before the final close position to engage the locks into whilst leaving a small gap for ventilation
