07 Nov What security standards to look for when buying a sliding door?
When you’re buying any external door there are several key factors that go into making that purchasing decision. Our homes are precious, they hold inside the things most dear to us, so one of the most important elements of any sliding door purchase is the level of security it offers.
When buying a sliding door in the UK there are various recognised security accreditation’s you can look out for.
The VueSlide 130LS is covered by the following:
- PAS 24:2012. Which is a British Standard publication that requires a window or door to achieve a minimum standard of performance.
- EN1627-1630. Which is a European standard subjecting the window or door to a variety of tests to simulate a break-in.
- Secured by Design. An organisation owned by the Association of Chief Police Officers. Their mission it is to reduce crime, by making homes and commercial properties more secure. Part of this initiative is their own accreditation scheme for products that can enhance a property’s security, including windows and doors.
